How do I connect my PC to my TV?
|
You can easily watch all media on your TV with a simple PC-to-TV connection.
Below please find several different methods to connect PC to TV depending on
your PC video card video/audio output and TV video/audio input capabilities.
|
Connecting PC to TV with S-Video
|
When connecting please use S-Video cable to connect video signal and
Miniplug-to-RCA Stereo Audio Cable to connect audio signal. S-Video (Super
Video or Y/C Video) produces a sharper image than standard video. In order to
use this feature, your TV must also have an S-Video input.
Connecting Video: Connect one end of the S-video cable to the video output on
your computer and the other end to the video input on your TV.
Connecting Audio: Plug the single connector end of the audio cable to the
line-out or speaker-out connector on your computer. Plug the 2 RCA connectors
on the other end of the audio cable into the audio input on your TV
(color-coded red and white for left and right audio channels).
Most video cards with at least 64 Megabytes of memory will come with S-Video
connection and there are some with 32 Megabytes of memory that will come with
the connection as well. Prices can range from $35 all the way up to $300. What
you get with the price is power and speed of the video card.
Here is the sample diagram that illustrates how to connect your PC-to-TV using
S-Video cable.

|

output on your computer and the other end to the video input on your TV (also
color-coded yellow).
Connecting Audio: Plug the single connector end of the audio cable to the

Connecting PC to TV with Wireless Connectors
|
Your local electronics
store may carry 'wireless video/audio sender and receivers.' You can connect
the 'sender' to your PC and attach the 'receiver' to your television to create
your own 'TV broadcasting station.' If you have more than one TV, you can buy
additional receivers. These devices tend to work best within one room or
through one wall, as the signal may not penetrate multiple walls. They also
transmit in only one direction, so you may not be able to use more than one TV
at a time. Here is what a typical sender and receiver look like.
